COOL DRINKS
SUMMER RECIPES. For tenuis parties long cool drinks are what everyone enjoys. They should be served as cold as possible. Raspberry Punch. —Alix together the juice of two lemons and four oranges. Boil a cupful of sugar and a gill of water until it reaches the thread stage, then add the fruit juice and enough water to make two quarts. If liked, flavour with mint by steeping a cupful of bruised mint leaves in some of the (boiling) water. Add equal quantity of raspberry syrup and serve very cold. Orangeade.—Steep the rind of three oranges in a pint of syrup, made with half a pound of sugar and one pint of water. Squeeze juice of one dozen oranges through a fine sieve, Add the syrup and two pints of water. I Mix and stand on ice for an hour. Fruit Punch. —Combine the juice of three oranges and two lemons, and mix with a cup of pineapple juice. Just before serving add a uiiart of dry gin ger ale and serve very cold. Iced Coffee.—Slake some strong coffee, allowing two heaped tablespoonfuls of coffee for each pint of water, and make hot an .equal quantity of milk. Alix together while hot, sweeten rather generously, it it will taste less sweet when cold. Place in ice chest. Serve with a spoonful of whipped cream on ton. and add o. suspicion of vanilla if liked.
