Following is the Government Meteorologist’s summary and forecast for th* Central, East, and North-east district* for the 24 hours from 9 o’clock today :— Summary: An intense anti-cyclone is still located east of New Zealand, while a depression is advancing across th® Tasman Sea. The position is, however, controlled principally by a small cyclone centred near the northern extremity of the Dominion and moving south-south-east. Forecast. Moderate but freshening easterly winds. Weather fine and mild but later becoming cloudy and misty, and rain developing north of Hawke’s Bay by to morrow. Seas smooth to moderate, but rising. HIGH TIDE.
