The Waikato Trotting Club’s spring meeting was held at Claudelands on Saturday in rainy weather. There was a good attendance. The track was in satisfactory order. The totalisator handled £7128 against £9752 last year, a decrease of £2624. Late results:-* Claudelands Handicap, of 120 sovs. * 1} mile.—6/8 Willie Derby 1, 2/3 Wee Machine 2, 7/6 Tempo. Also ran: 5/2 Rock Hinton, 1/1 Smooger, 3/4 Pukemiro, 9/9 Richore, 4/5 Capiland, 8/7 Our Peter Won by three-quarters of a length, third back one length and a-half. Time, 3.25. Stewards’ Handicap, of 100 sovs.; 1} mile.—4/4 Bingen Chief 1, 7/5 Bonnie Direct 2, 8/8 Phyllis Axworthy 3. Also ran: 12/12 Alexis, 11/11 Cogent, 4/3 Tryment, 6/6 Wee Parrish, 10/10 Le Chenault, 8/3 May Chenault, 9/7 Whakahihi, 2/1 Chancellor, 1/1 Red Hope.
