Following is the Government Meteorologist's summary and forecast for the Central, East, and North-east district* for the 24 hours from 9 o’clock to. day:— Summary: An anti-cyclone covers eastern Australia, and extends across tne north Tasman Sea, but a secondary depression has developed over southern New Zealand, causing a temporary return to north-westerly winds there. Forecast: Moderate to strong west to south-west winds. Weather cool and changeable, with scattered showers later. Seas rather rough. HIGH TIDE.
