LOCAL BODY AMALGAMATION

NOTICE OF MOTION TO HARBOUR BOARD. Mr R D. Brown has given notice of his intention to submit the following motion at the next meeting of the Napier Harbour Board, to be held on Monday next:— “That this board approves the principle of the amalgamation of local bodies where practicable generally, and is satisfied that better service can be given to the community in this district bv co-ordinated action under one elective board controlling county, harbour and river administration than exists at present, and that the County Council and the Rivers Board bo invited to set up sub-committees to meet representatives of this board with the object of exploring the possibility of achieving unified control."
