MAYOR’S RELIEF FUND
DONATIONS RECEIVED. Donations to the Hastings Mayor’s Central Relief Fund have been received as under: —
There is also the amount of £lOO received from the Unemployment Board to be used solely for the relief of unemployed women and girls. LIST OF DONATIONS IN KIND. The following persons have kindly donated assistance to the Mayor’s Fund by a generous response as given below: H. W. C. Baird, £3O in weekly instalments of £5 for clothing; Mrs Newbigin, 20 quarts of milk to help a destitute family; Barry Bros., one crate of 30 dozen eggs; Wilton Collieries, 10 tons of coal. The following gave 10 tone of coal between them and delivered same to the homes of the unemployed free of charge: Messrs R. Holt and Sons, T. Donovan, 11. McKain, White and Co., Napier Gas Co., Barry Bros. We have to thank Messrs Williams and Creagh for cartage of wood and the Hastings Borough Council for several cords of wood, to provide firing for the unemployed. The following have donated clothing to the Red Cross Society: Mrs Turner Williams, blankets; Airs C. Gordon, blankets; Mrs Kirkley, mattresses.
Hastings Community Club, proceeds ol a bridge afternoon, £6 3/-; E.F.N., “In Jesus’ Name,” £l2 10/-. Donations of clothing have also been received from Mrs Turner AVilliains, Mrs T. W. Smith, Mrs Webster, Mr F. S. Candy, Sister Miller, Mrs Mac(Maraekakahp).
