STORTFORD LODGE SALE QUALITY OF ENTRIES IMPROVE. SMALLER NUMBER OP STORE CATTLE. Improved quality entries and an easier tone in the market were features of to-day’s sale at Stortford Lodge. Some 340 fat and 700 store cattle were offered, this being a decrease on last week’s totals. Included amongst the cattle were entries of stock from Mr. Colin White, Te Aute; Mr. E. Averill, “Echills”; Mr. L. R. Averill, “Tohanakino”; Mr. J. J. Lyons, “Greenhill”; Mr. J. Donald, Mr. Arthus Small and Mr. W. Campbell. Prices all round showed a slight fall, cows, heifers and bullocks all being affected. The quality entries sold relatively well, being the source of a considerable amount of competition. The quality of the entries was an improvement on last week, a particularly fine diaft of P.A. cows being entered, on account of Greenwood Brothers.
