APPEALS UPHELD

WHANGAREI DISQUALIFICATION RUNNING OF PRINCESS STAR AUCKLAND, April 18. Appeals by Wenzl Scholium, racehorse owner, W. Goscomb, trainer, and G Grice, apprentice jockey, against their disqualification for six months by the Judicial Committee of the Whangarei Racing Club were upheld by the Auckland District Racing Committee. * The ease concerned the running of Princess Star in the Portlanl Hack Handicap at Whangarei on April 6, and the disqualifications were imposed on the ground that there had been contravention of the rule relating to a horse being run on its merits. The District Committee, in allowing the appeals, ordered the deposits of £5 each to be returned to the appellants.
