METROPOLITAN MEETING. SATIN KING’S FLYING CHRISTCHURCH. April 15. The Metropolitan Trotting Club’s meeting was held to-day in perfect weather. The track was in fast condition and the attendance was good. The totalisator handled £27,854 10/-, compared with £24,510 last year. Late results:— EASTER HANDICAP 8- Lindbergh (Donald) 1 2-2 Colorado (Berry) 2 1- Sunny Morn (Hooper) .. .. 3 Also ran: 5-6 Arethusa, 10-10 Linkman 6-5 Mountain Dell, 9-9 Olive Nelson. 3-3 Sir Guy, 718 Glenrossie, 4-4 Red Shadow. In a stirring finish Lindbergh won after a severe tussle with Colorado and Sunny Morn from the distance post. Over the last 50 yards the winner drew away and won by a length and a half, half a length between second and third. Time. 4.20. Express Handicap.—2-2 Gold Tinge (M. B. Had Roi Lor not broken at the start he might have added interest to the finish. Harold Logan was going well when he went into a .skip at three furlongs. Time, 2.41 1-5. HAWERA MEETING. OPENING DAY’b" RESULTS. HAWERA. April 15. The Hawera Trotting Club's Easter meeting was opened in fine weather before a good attendance. The track was in good condition following heavy rain overnight. The totalisator handled £5310 10'-, being £lO7 more than the £5203 10/- of the corresponding day last year. In winning the Manaia Handicap Kohewah ran a mile and a half in 3.33 2-5, though over the same distance he had taken" 3.46 earlier in the d»y when running thud in the Matapu. An

HAWERA. April 17. The Hawera Trotting Club’s annual meeting was concluded in favourable weather before a fair attendance. The track was in excellent condition. The totalisator handled £5550 10/- for tho day, being a decrease of £205 10/- on the second day last year, and for the two days the total of £10,861 was £9B 10/- down compared with last year’s total of £10,959 10/-.
