WRITING DOWN OF CAPITAL. (Received 15, 10.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 15. The directors of Associated Newspapers Ltd., Sydney, have circularised shareholders urging the writing down of ordinary apital by £1,052,120 by a reduction in the face value of ordinary shares by 10/- a share, but preference shares to be untouched. FIJI BANANAS. DIVERTED TO AUCKLAND. (Received 15, 11.10 a.m.) SUVA, April 15. A banana shipment intended for Sydney was yesterday diverted to Auckland owing to the high taxation and other Federal charges. LABOUR POLICY. SOCIALISATION OF CREDIT. (Received 15, 11.20 a.m.) SYDNEY, April The Labour Easter conference reconstructed the party policy to enable the will of tho people to be given effect to. The conference overwhelmingly expressed the opinion that at the next Federal elections the party must declare for the immediate socialisation of credit and steps must bo taken to achieve a completely unified Commonwealth.
