CROQUET

ST LEONARDS CLUB DAY. An enjoyable afternoon was held at St. Leonards croquet- green on Tuesday afternoon when a number of visitors were present from various greens, including Napier, Port, Kia Toa, Havelock, Omaranui, Wairere. Hastings, and Wellington. Afternoon tea was served in the pavilion. The tables were decorated with autumn foliage and were admired by all. Following were the winners of the competitions:— Shuttles: Mrs Boyle 1, Mrs Sanson 2. Golf Croquet: Mrs Leicester 1, Mrs Richie 2. Ball ou Peg: Mrs Mitchell 1, Mrs Butler 2. Squares: Mrs Fergusson 1, Mrs Petersen 2. Putting: Mrs Tomlinson 1, Miss Watson 2. One-ball Break: Mrs Boyle 1, Mrs Heenan 2. Angles: Mrs Coombes 1, Mrs Arkins 2. Competitions for a nightdress and scarf resulted; Miss E. Barrett, c/o .Munro’s, and Miss M. Hartley, Waipukurau.
