HANDUNG OF CARGO
INNER HARBOUR ANO BREAKWATER. AN AMENDED REPORT. At the request of Mr A, E. Juil, M.P., and by direction of the chairman of the Napier Harbour Board, Mr T. M. Geddis, the wharfinger, Mr H. D. Earney, has supplied the information set out below, it having been omitted from his report to the board on Monday last relative to the quantity of cargo handled at the Inner Harbour and at the Breakwater over a certain period. The report set out the amount of lighterage incurred for cargo handled through the Inner Harbour, but did not include the lighterage charges for that handled from the Breakwater. The report, it will be remembered, set out the haulage charges for wool and meat handled as being £205, while the amended report reveals that the charges, including lighterage, total £1156 14/2. When Mr .lull drew attention to the matter Mr -Higgins explained that the omission was purely an oversight. BREAKWATER HARBOUR.
