The deceased lady resided in Clive for almost the whole of her life of 74 years, having been taken there by her parents when she was an infant a month old. West Clive, as it was called then, wa& a place of some importance. but it was also a place of some floods, and the late Mrs Pell, in common with the other early settlers, shared in the trials and hardships of those troublous times. Of a very active and kindly disposition, the late Mrs Pell interested herself in all the movements for the advancement of the district, and was held in the highest esteem by all who knew her. Up to a month ago she had enjoyed excellent health, and deep sorrow will be felt in the district at her sudden demise. She leaves a husband and one son, Mr E. Pell, to whom the sympathy of all will be extended in their bereavement. The funeral will leave her late residence West Clive, for the Hastings Cemetery, to-morrow, Friday, at 2 p.m.
