SENTENCES AT WELLINGTON. By Telegraph—Press Association. WELLINGTON, April 10. The following prisoners were sentenced by Mr Justice Myers:—Jack Harry Payne, breaking, entering and theft (22 charges), five years’ hard labour on each; on a charge of robbery with violence, seven years’ hard labour, the sentences to be concurrent, and he to be declared an habitual criminal. Henry Ernest Ferguson Lee, forgery and uttering, two years’ hard labour. Thomas Marren, four charges of uttering counterfeit coins, one charge of making counterfeits and a charge of making a mould, two years’ probation. John Male, committing mischief by window breaking, 12 months’ probation. Harold Alexander Brown, breaking, entering and theft, attempted breaking and entering with intent, and theft, three years’ Borstal treatment. Charles Edward Thomas, two charges of breaking, entering and theft, two years’ reformative treatment. Gordon Kenneth Watson, attempted breaking and entering with intent, two years’ probation. Bernard Joseph Molloy, breaking, entering, and theft, two years’ hard labour. Harold Mercer, sev >n charges of breaking, entering and theft and three of breaking and entering with intent and also committing mischief, two years’ hard labour, to be followed by three years’ reformative treatment.
