MOVING TO OTHER DISTRICTS, BOARD’S STATEMENT. Wellington, March 16. A warning to unemployed against transferring their residence to another district unless assured of work is issued in an official statement by the Unemployment Board. It was stated that several of the board’s certifying officers had reported that they had found difficulty in placing men who had migrated. Many local authorities had decided to bo responsible for finding employment only for residents of three and sometimes six months' standing. The board was unable to force local authorities to provide work It was suggested that no married unemployed man should remove his family to another district without receiving an assurance from tho certifying officer that it was possible for him to bo placed.
