TRENTHAM FINAL GALLOPS TWO-YEAR-OLDS SPRINTED. AUTOPAY GOES WELL. By Telegraph—Press Association. Wellington, March 16. The final galloping was done at Tientham in fine, windy weather this morning. The plough and trial grass tracks were both open, but most of the work was ooiie on the plough. Two-year-olds had the use of the outside of the course proper. Unless otherwise stated the gallops are on the plough. • • • Autopay ran three furlongs on 36 2-5 sec, doing it well. On the outside of the course proper Dolo went half a mile in 48 1-osee. Pegged Exchange, a lazy worker, and with a good weight up, required 52 sec. * • • Fracas sprinted down the straight. Guaiantee ran half a mile along the back. • • • Reel Manfred came down from the five furlongs post in 1.1. Diatomou* increased his pace from a canter to full speed over the same stretch. c <’ • Trivet cantered only. Princes, Doreen, lightly shod, slipped over five furlongs on the trial grass in 59 4-ssee, the last half-mile in 47 3-ssec. • • • On the course proper Gay Sheila beat Secrecy by two lengths over half a mile in 48 4-ssec. Golden Hair did pacing only with Peschiera, the pair sharpening up in the straight. * • • Epigram finished a length behind Eminent and Might at the end of six furlongs in 1.16, the final half in 50 2-5 sec. Golden Horn and Capetown ran six furlongs in 1.18 2-5. Invite and Shootist required 1.18. Cricket Bat reeled off six furlongs in 1.15 3-5, after doing the first two furlongs in 24 3-ssec. Zeebrugge ran half a mile in 51sec. < • • Rebel Song worked similarly. Rocket did half a mile in 55sec. • • • Heather Glow did half a mile in 52 sec. La Moderne and Inflation were going easily together at the end of half j a mile in 3-ssec. For a similar distance on the grass Jadarino registered 50 2-ssec. Palace beat Revision by two lengths, with Chile a like distance away after running five furlongs in 1.6 3-5. • • • Tout le Mond drew out to a length lead over Gay Crest at the close of fiv e furlongs on the grass in 1.4 4-5, the last half-mile in 50 3-ssee. Un the same track Acfveutus just beat Red Flush al the end of seven furlongs in 1.20 2-6, the last half-mile in 51sec. • • • Miladi was two lengths too good lor March Alone over six furlongs in 1.16 3-5. Pomp beat Cottesmore by bail a length over half a mile in 49sec. • • • Gold Trail and Awaken went a mile together in 1.43 2-5, the final half-mile in 52secs. True Shaft finished a neck in front of Eupator at the end of Mi a mile in 48 3-ssecs. * • • Green Linnet, who looks really well, ran the last half-mile of a five-furloug I spin in 48 2-ssecs. The Tiger, after a slow beginning, registered 48 3-sseoa. for half a mile. • • • Looksley sprinted three furlongs m 36 4-ssecs. Lordly Knight did a brilliant three furlongs on the grass in 35 2-ssecs. Un the same track Good Hunting, assisted by Misfire, went five furlongs in 1.2 4-5, the final hall in 4'Jsecs. Martian Chief finished his work oier six furlongs in 1.17 4-5, but he aas bleeding badly when pulled up. His trainer says it was his worst attack yet. I Gay Cburt ran six in 1.17, doing the last half-mile in 50 2-Ssecs. Mobile and Chief Light did an easy half-mile in 53 2-osecs. • • • Owlsflight went half a mile in 53sec». Assemble and Kerbsid© were on terms at the end of five furlongs, the last half-mile in SOsect. Worship just shaded Trek at the close of five furjongs in 1.3 4-5, the final half-mile taking 51secs. Ruling Light ran seven furlongs comfortably in 1.34, the last half-mile in 53 2-s«ecs.
Late Jest pulled up very lame and will not race again for some time
