The Director-General of Health forwarded recently to the Hawke’s Bay Hospital Board a report of Dr. P. P. Lynch concerning his visit to the laboratory at the Napier Hospital. This report contained the suggestion that a cadetship in the laboratory should ba filled with the appointment of a girl. Board members dissented from this view, Mr Lassen commenting: “ The whole trouble to-day is that girts are being put into jobs and boys pushed out, so accentuating the position of our unemployed boys.” Members heartily concurred, and the letter containing the suggested cadetship was “ received. ”
