HOSPITAL ADMINISTRATION

H.B. BOARD MEETING WORK OF INSTITUTIONS The monthly meeting of the Hawks’* Bay Hospital Board was held yesterday afternoon. Present: Messrs C. O. Morse (chairman), H. V. Hoadley, N. P. Eriksen, S. J. McKee, C. Duff, 0. H. Williams, C. Lasseu and A. E. Bedford. Leave of absence was granted to Dr. H. M. Wilson and to Mr H. Hill. During the month 77 males and 59 females were admitted to the Napior Hospital, while 69 males ani 53 females were discharged. Three males and one female died, leaving in the institution at date 53 male and 49 female patients. At the Hastings Memorial Hoshpital 21 males and 11 females were admitted, while 20 males and 11 females were discharged Infectious diseases were admitted to hospital as under: Phthisis I, typhoid 3, puerperal sapraemia 1, dysentery 1, puerperal pyrexia 1. A total of 207 were treated in the outpatients’ department at Napier and 93 at Hastings. At the Hastings Memorial Hospital I* babies were born during the past month. The Hastings District Nurse made a total of 27'3 visits to 44 patients, while the fees collected totalled £4 6/6. 'The Napier District Nurse made 187 visits to 20 patients, collecting £7 15/6 in fees.
