HASTINGS HOMING CLUB
■ ■ * RACE FROM WOODVILLE. The above club flow their birds from Woodville last Saturday. The stationmaster very kindly liberated them at 1.49 p.m. and the first bird arrived at 4.10 p.m., the second bird one minute later, and the third bird ten seconds after the second bird. The birds must have flown against a fairly heavy wind if the veloeics are taken into consideration. Results: — Mr. D. Buckingham’s B.C.H. 637, velocity 885.8 1 Mr. C. J. Martin’s B.C.C. 285, velocity 881.9 2 Mr. C. J. Martin’s B.C.C. 223, velocity 880 3 Other lofts: Messrs. M. A. Bell, P. Percy, E. Curtis, L. Harrison and W. Wall. Mr. Wall is a new member and a previous Christchurch flier, to whom we extend our congratulations on his debut here, and wish him every success. He has some of the good old strains in his loft to work on.
