FEAR OF DISEASE RELIEF ORGANISATIONS AT WORK. CASUALTY FIGURES UNCHANGED Los Angeles, March 12. The fear of disease getting a foothold on the earthquake torn area of the metropolitan district through the pollution of unregulated sanitation added more woe on Sunday to the predicament of the homeless. Thousands of united relief agencies went into action on a wide front, and first-aid treatment in hospitals, food distribution and even reconstruction work gathered momentum while the earth was still shaking. Thirty-live major shocks occurred. The shocks did little damage except to shake down more bricks, glass and masonry. The casualty and damage figures remained generally unchanged. LONG BEACH DEATH ROLL. NOW STANDS AT 50. Long Beach, March 21. The death roll here as a result of the earthquake is now estimated at 50, the reduction in number being due to double identifications of tho same bodies.
