Registrations for the medical course at Otago University exceed last year’s enrolments by 30, and the influx of second-ycar students has made the accommodation crowded. Medical student» now total 299. Mining lias attracted 33 students, against 31 last year. ’Dentistry -an 1 law have apparently declined in popularity, but enrolments for the commerce course are expected to reach last year’s number, 173. To date only 300 have enrolled in the arts and science faculty, this showing a falling-off of 162 students, due partly to tho closing of teachers ’ training college.
