Amazing reports are current in Nanking that Japan and Manchtlkuo contemplate a treaty providing for the conquest of all China, and for the establishment of a federated Chinese Empire, with Puyi resuming the throne. The Japanese have captured Kupeikow Pass, from Jehol into North China, and the Chinese forces are fleeing. The Japanese announce that they have no intention of proceeding beyond the Great Wall.
