TO LIQUIDATE

ULM EXPLAINS A.N.A. MOVE. ON WITH “SMITHY.” Sydney, March 1. Several aeroplanes are for sale in Sydney. These and other equipment of Australian National Airways, Limited, are being thrown open for sale by public tender, consequent upon a decision by shareholders in that company that, it shall proceed to voluntary liquidation. “A.N.A. goes into liquidation, but Kingsford Smith and Ulm do not,” I'Tigat-Licutenant Ulm stated, with emphasis to a representative of the “Sun.” There were no definite plans for reconstruction, Mr Ulm added. The Government had called for tenders for the Australian section of the England-Coiiinioiiwealth air services, he added, but a long interval must elapse before work under that plan could actually be commenced. The company was not in a position to carry on indefinitely, so the shareholders had decided that it shall be wound up. ‘ * Sir Charles Kingsford Smith and I,” said Mr Ulm, “intend to go ahead with the business of aviation, and we shall certainly be tenderers for the England-Australia contract. ’ ’
