EXPORT FRUIT

AN URGENT REQUEST. FOR SOUTH AMERICAN DELICIOUS. The following telegram has been received from the Fruit Export Control Board by Mr A.~L. Baumgart, local representative of the Fruitgrowers’ Federation: — “Advise growers that the board is unable to secure definite assurance for remittance of sale proceeds of fruit sent this season to the Argentine, but anticipate these remittances will ultimately be obtained. Peluffo advises shipping 80,000 cases. If growers are prepared to submit fruit, the board will finance shipments and accept fancy grade Delicious, sizes 80 to 125. We recommend shipment.”

Mr Baumgart has been asked by the board to endeavour to arrange the railing of 3000 fancy and extra fancy South American Delicious by Monday mid-day.

Growers are urged to assist the board by endeavouring to dispatch as many as possible.
