GERMAN SITUATION HESSIAN POLICE FORCED TO SURRENDER ARMS. COMMUNIST LEADER FOUND SHOT DEAD. By Telegraph-Press Assn.—Copyright. (Received 9, 11.15 a.m.) Berlin, March 8. The entire Hessian police arc now controlled by the Nazis, who occupied the Ministry of the Interior and forced the police stationed there to surrender their arms. Nazis are now guarding the building.
Socialist and Trade Union newspaper offices were also occupied. Ignoring the protests of the Burgomaster of Cologne, Dr. Adenauer, Nazis, in the presence of a vast crowd, hoisted their flag over the city ball and other buildings. The police, apparently supported the Nazis. A Communist leader was found shot dead at Duisburg.
