NOW £27,000,000
LOAN CONVERSION OFFERS. Wellington, March 9. Offers of conversion to a lower rate of interest by holders of Government securities totalled £27,000,000 up to last night. The Minister of Finance, Rt. Hon. J. G. Coates, said the Treasury was still receiving a very gratifying responce to the appeal to investors to as, sist the Government in bringing the conversion of its £115,000,000 internal debt to a successful conclusion. There was still over a fortnight before the closing date for applications and as the total amount involved in voluntary offers was growing daily, there was ever- reason to believe that the result would come up to expectations.
