NORTH ISLAND MEETING HAWKE’S BAY SUCCESSES. On the concluding day of the North Island rifle-shooting championship meeting at Wanganui, Rifleman J. E. Fletcher (Dannevirke), 49, won first prize in the Wellington match, S.S.M. J. H. Kearney (Napier), 47, Rifleman A. S. Berry (Dannevirke) 47, Pres. F. T. White (Okawa) 47, Rifleman R. K. McClavery (Dannevirke) 46, Rifleman J. M. Carmichael (Okawa) 46, Rifleman J. Sim (Okawa) 46, Rifleman W. J. Green - (Okawa) 46 and Capt. Nielson (Okawa) 46, also being prize-takers. Rifleman J. Sim (Okawa) 98, and S.S.M. Kearney (Napier) 96, were prize-takers in the optional aggregate. In the Masterton match Rifleman W. J. Green (Okawa) 48, Rifleman A. S. Berry (Dannevirke) 48, S.S.M. Kearney (Napier) 47 and Rifleman ±i. K. McClavery (Dannevirke) 48, all took prizes. In this match the lady competitor, Miss C. Kretchniar (New Plymouth), was counted out with a score of 44.

In the Manawatu match Rifleman W. J. Green (Okawa) 49, Pres. F. T. White (Okawa) 49, Rifleman A. S. Berry (Dannevirke) 48, Captain Nielson (Okawa) 47, Rifleman K. B. Gray (Okawa) 47, Rifleman W. J. Benton (Okawa) 46 and Rifleman J. F. Fletcher (Dannevirke) were also included among the prize-takers.
