FOB CARNIVAL OBGANISEBS. VALUABLE CO-OPERATION. One of the most gratifying features at the worlf that is being done by the committee appointed to organise the Hastings Carnival is the great amount of assistance and co-operation that is . being received from Napier residents and organisations. Mr. Percy Spiller, among others, has undertaken both on his own behalf and on behalf of the Napier Thirty Thousand Club to give active support to many of the schemes that the Carnival Executive has in mind, and his organisation and others have also offered the loan of gear for use in sideshows and for other purIn addition, the local organisation of commercial travellers, headed by Mr. Jack Harris, has arranged to conduct a meek court on the Wednesday of Carnival Week, and on Thursday, which will be the big day, will assist in running sideshows at the racecourse and in giving other help. Expressions of pleasure at the offers that have been received from Napier were freely expressed at last evening’s meeting of the Carnival Executive, and the assistance that has been tendered will be o fthe greatest value to the organisers.
