WEDDING

SHEFFIELD—BOIL. St. Andrew’s Church, Hastings, was prettily decorated with pink and white flowers to-day for the marriage of Olive Agnes Roil, youngest daughter of Mrs. M. 0. Roil and the late Mr. W. H. Roil, of Patoka, to Cecil Howard Sheffield, twin son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Sheffield, of Clive. The Rev. D. J. A. Shaw officiated, and Miss Airlni Lock played the wedding hymns and appropriate music for the ceremony. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. Harry Roil, wore a very pretty frock of soft ivory satin beaute, the bodice closely fitting with a V neck and long sleeves with flqe pin tucks in diagonal effect and the skirt moulded at the hips with fine tucking across and finished at the hem line in fully flared effect with Inset godets. A fine ivory hand-embroidered tulle veil fell as a train from a cap and coronet of orange .blossoms, and a sheaf of arum lilies completed the graceful ensemble. Miss Mar; Roil, sister of the bride, wore a picturesque frock of deep japonica-pink satin beaute, the bodice ruched in front and finished with tiny satin bows, and the long flared skirt made with a flared peplum flounce. Brocaded black and rose shoes were worn and a black straw hat with pink flowers under the brim and a swathe of pink and black satin. A sheaf was carried of ranunculi, spiraxis, roses and huchera with maidenhair fern and ribbon.

Mr. Graham Hady, of Gisborne, was best man.

After the ceremony Mrs. Roil entertained relatives and old family friends at the “Selphast” tea-room, where pink flowers and greenery decorated the tables, and a three-tiered cake with a spray of sweet peas and maidenhair fern on it stood before the bride and bridegroom. Many toasts were honoured.

Mrs. Boil, mother of the bride, was in a model ensemble of black silk marocain with a pleated skirt, corsage of .black and white finely figured crepe-de-chine, with a basque coatee finely scalloped on the revers and elbow sleeves. A shiny black straw hat was worn and a bouquet carried of roses, huchera, and ranunculi. Mrs. Sheffield, mother of the bridegroom, was in a saxe blue ensemble with a hat of blue straw to tone and her bouquet was of sweetpeas, violas, and iris, with maidenhair fern. All the bouquets were made by W. H. Walker and Sons. Miss Jessie Roil’s frock was of bottle green silk marocain with a bodice of finely tucked beige crepe-de-chine covered by a scalloped bolero coatee edged with beige crepe-de-chine and the long sleeves finished at tho wrist with a beige frill. Miss Sheffield, sister of the bridegroom, wore an attractive dress of pink georgette with a straw hat to tone-

Later the. bride and bridegroom left by car for the north, the bride wearing a very dainty frock of beige and Lido blue floral silk voile, with narrow picot frilling edging a coatee and basque and the long sleeves. A black hat with blue flowers under the tilted brim, and a smartly cut long coat of fine black diagonal tweed was worn.

Many beautiful presents were received by the bride and bridegroom. Mr. and Mrs, C. H. Sheffield will in future reside in Gisborne.
