ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING LOSS ON THE YEAR’S WORKINGS Mr J. D. Ormond, senior, ■ presided over tho annual meeting of the Waipukurau Jockey Club, held at Waipukurau yesterday, at which there was an ati tendance of over 30 members. The president submitted his report for tho year as follows:— “Your committee in presenting the annual report and balance sheet for the financial year ending July 31, 1932, regrets that it is not as satisfactory as many that have preceded it, the general financial depression which unfortunately lias been so prevalent in the Dominion for some considerable time past being responsible for a decrease in all classes of revenue received by the club. “It is with feelings of deepest regret that the death of Mr H. A. Speedy, who as a member and officer had been associated with the club for so many years, has to be recorded. “The income and expenditure account shows a loss on the year’s workings of £926 9s 9d, after writing off the sum of £239 11s for depreciation. “Your committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the valuable services rendered by the managers of the farm, in which department a profit of £49 19s Id, is shown as a result of the year’s operations. “The thanks of the club are due to the executive officers for the efficient manner in which they have carried out their many and varied duties, the popularity and prestige of the club being in a great measure due to their able administration. “The committee desires to place on record its appreciation of the services so kindly rendered by Mr A. M. Brodie, the club’s honorary veterinary surgeon. “The tracks, buildings, and other appointments of tho club have been well maintained, and are in good order and repair. ’ ’ Mr Ormond thanked the members who had guaranteed the sum of £5OO, which would enable the club to hold its meeting this year. ELECTION OF OFFICERS. The election of officers resulted: — President, Mr P. F. Wall; vice-presid-ents, Messrs F. Armstrong and H. R. Peacock; honorary treasurer, Mr J. D. Todd; committee, Messrs S. F, Brandon, T. P. Hunter, R. McLean, T. E. Whelch, A. S. Wilder and W. H. L. Williams; honorary auditor, Mr G. E. Fowler. WAIPAWA COUNTY RACING CLUB ACCEPTANCES DUE ON MONDAY Horseowners and trainers are reminded that acceptances for all handicap events, and entries for the Maiden Plate and Novice Stakes, at the Waipawa County Racing Club’s annual meeting, will close with the secretary, Mr H. C. Collett, on Monday, October 17, at 8.15 p.m. WAIKATO HUNT CLUB. ACCEPTANCES CLOSE ON FRIDAY Acceptances for the Waikato Hunt Club’s Meeting on Labour Day close on Friday, October 14, by 5 p.m,, with Messrs Blomfield and .Co,, Shortland street, Auckland, or with the secretary, Mr Walter Stopford, Cambridge.

TIMARU REHANDICAPS.

Timaru, Oct. 11. Silver Streak has been rehandicapped to 7.13 in the Tycho Hack Handicap at the South Canterbury meeting. Other Dunedin winners are not penalised.
