DISARMAMENT

HOOVER PROPOSALS COMMENDED (Received 9, 12.20 p.m.) Geneva, July 8. The Disarmament Commission commended the Hoover proposals, which Sir Thomas Wilford described as welltimed, and added that the AngloAmerican proposals, which pursued a common objective, should lead to a statesmanlike compromise.
