Sir Stanley Argyle, Premier of Victoria, speaking at a North Sydney election meeting, said that he had come to speak m Sydney because he was convinced that the situation was one in which the welfare of his own State was vitally concerned. If New South Wales fell the whole of Australia would fall. He added that the finances of the other States had been affected by what had occurred m New South Wales and quoted the Mortgages Taxation Bill as an example of legislation which would affect the whole of Australia. DISGRACEFUL FOOTBALL RIOT. (Received 7, 10.45 a.m.) Sydney, June 7. There was another disgraceful Sunday football riot when teams at Wentworth Park came to blows and the spectators joined in. Three constables eventually separated the teams and escorted one to the ambulance room. The barrackers for the other side tore palings from the fences and grandstand and attacked the ambulance rooni. which was damaged. The police escorted the players from the oval.
