HAVELOCK NORTH

GENERAL NEWS AND NOTES. The Havelock North Eire Brigade held their usual monthly meeting in the Fire Station last night, Superintendent Toop presiding over the usual full muster. Accounts amounting to £6 2/3 were passed for payment. The resignation of Fireman Simmonds was received with regret. It was decided to postpone the next euchre tournament for one week to Tuesday, June 21st., for the convenience of patrons. The Havelock North branch of the New Zealand Political Reform League held its annual meeting in the Town Board office last evening, Mr T. Mason Chambers presiding. In his address to the meeting Mr Chambers stated that apart from the election of officers there was practically nothing for the meeting to do, and so long as the Coalition Government existed it would bo bad form to show any pretence towards party organisation. The election of a chairman of the incoming committee was left in abeyance.
