There was a fair attendance. The track was heavy after the overnight rain. The totalisator handled £30,803 10/-, compared with £53,516 10/- on the second day last year, a decrease of £22,713. The figures for the meeting were £64,848 10/-, compared with £102,317, a decrease of £37,468 10/-. Results:— NELSON HANDICAP.

L’Allegro, Imamint and Exaggeration made the running into the straight where the placed horses came from far back to beat them in a close finish. L’Allegro was fourth. Won by a neck, third fire lengths away. Time. 3.22 3-5. Patutahi moved up to St. Ames entering the straight, heading him at the distance, where Standfast made a successful challenge. Kinsel, Principal and Full Measure fell. AUTUMN HANDICAP 4 Antique (Gray) ] 5 Taneriri (L. Won by a head, third two lengths back. Time, 2.39 3-5. Speedmint led into the straight from Royal Artist, Catoma, Awaken, Antique and Taneriri. Taneriri and Antique both made great runs to fight a close finish clear of tho field. Great Star, which had fallen back seventh, camo again to take third. AUTUMN STEEPLECHASE 5 Billy Bov (L. Dulieu) 1 1 King’s Counsel (McDonald) ... 2 3 Copey (Tucker) 3 Also ran; 4 Master Lu, 6 Mangani, 2 Nassock, 7 Slump 9.7. Won by half a length, third five lengths away. Time, 6.10 3-5. Billy Boy took the lead on the hill and fought out a close finish with King’s Counsel after the pair took the last fence together. Master Lu fell.

Time, 3.9 4-5. Flower made the early running from Peter Jackson and Psychologist. The positions were unchanged half a mile from home, where Peter Jackson moved to the front and Gibraltar followed him into the straight, but just failed to head him. Won by two lengths, third a length back. Time, 1.16. Golden Wings led into the straight from King Ford, Leitrim and Huntingdon. Chromadyne came fast on the outer, while King Ford and Leitrim faded.
