NAPIER COURT

(Before Mr A. M. Mowlem, S.M.) DEFENDED ACTIONS. Judgment for the plaintiffs in the sum of £l4 10s, with costs amounting to £4 9s, was awarded in the case in which H. Ashby and G. Stephenson claimed from James and Matilda Koorey the balance owing for work and materials in the building of a brick wall and the repairing of a house in Hastings street for the defendants. Haymond Thomas Dykes succeeded in a claim against James and Matilda Koorey for £9 12s 6d, with costs £2 13s, for cartage done by him to the defendants.

Jonathan G. Ellison and Harold G. Ellison proceeded against Donald McLeod in a claim for £59 Is, being allegedly due for work done and materials supplied by the plaintiffs to the defendant for repairs to the Clarendon Hotel. After hearing evidence for both parties, the Bench non-suited the plaintiff with respect to all amounts over and above the sum of £24 10s paid into Court by the defendant. The latter was allowed costs on the action amounting to £8 ss.
