SEGRAVE MEMORIAL TROPHY
AWARDED TO HINKLER. SOUTH ATLANTIC FLIGHT. London, Jan. 29. The Segrave Memorial Trophy given to the British subject accomplishing the most outstanding demonstration on land, water or air transport for the year has been awarded to Hinkler. Sir Malcolm Campbell, at the dinner of the British Racing Drivers’ Club prior to Daytona, described Hinkler’s South Atlantic flight as the sort of feat to fire the ambition of the youths of Britain and the dominions. It was impossible to give too much honour bi him for showing that the Briton to-day was as enterprising as ever.
