HERALD” SHIELD CONTEST THE NAPIER CLUB’S TEAM Following is the team to represent the Napier Amateur Athletic and Cycling Club in defence of the “Hawke’s Bay Herald’’ Shield in the inter-club contest with the Gisborne Amateur Athletic and Harriers Club at Gisborne next Saturday:— 100 and 220 yards.— Hare, Read and Bird. 440 yards.—Bird and Angus. 880 yards.—Mortensen, Preston and Bird. One mile. —Mortensen, Preston and Angus. Cycle events.—P. Robson, C. Robson, Annan and Goudie. High jump. — Chadwick, Lee and Callinan. Long jump.—Gillespie, Phillips and Bird. Mop, step and jump.—Gillespie, Phillips and Callinan. Pole vault.—F. Jane, Johnston and Callinan. Shot putt.—Steere, Lindsay and Minett. Discus.—Minett, Lindsay, Steere and Phillips. 120 yards hurdles.—Callinan, Jane and Lee. Belay.—Hare, Read, Bird and Preston. Competitors are requested to apply to R. Callinan concerning transit. 1
