The London “Daily Telegraph” says surveyors informed the church authorities that, as a result of the restoration work, (St. Paul’s Cathedral is out of danger. The opinion is based on months of daily tests, notably of the dome, no movement of which recorded. —London P.A. cable. An old offender, with a record of 72 convictions, Leonard William Beach, ap. peared at tho Napier Court this morning before Messrs. A. E. Bedford and W. L. Prime, J.P.’s, charged with drunkenness and with using bad language. Evidence was given by the police, who stated that Beach was seen proceeding along Battery road in a most drunken condition. Later he was in Waghorne street, when he began throwing stones at a shop, but did not do i...v damage. Following the use of bad language, be was arrested. On the charge of drunkenness he was convicted and discharged and for using bad language ho was convicted and fined £5, in default one mouth's imprisonment.
