HASTINGS PUBLIC CLOCK
ERECTION AT POST OFFICE. ASSISTANCE FROM DEPARTMENT. Mr. H. M. Campbell, M.P., has received the following letter from the Postmaster-General, the Hon. A. Hamilton:— “In reference to the letter of the 30th October last from the Town Clerk of Hastings to yourself regarding the question of the provision by my department of brackets for a clock which the Hastings Borough Council propose to have installed on the facade of the Hartings Post Office building when constructed, I beg to inform you that it has now been disclosed that my predecessor gave an undertaking that ho would favourably consider the matter. “In the 'rcumstances I will honour that undertaking and arrange for the necessary brackets to be supplied and placed in position. 1 am communicating further with the Borough Council in this connection.”
