DATE DISCUSSED

IMPERIAL CONFERENCE. MENTION OF JULY. Ottawa, Dec. 8. Mr Bennett, on his return on Friday or Saturday, may have a statement on the coming Imperial Conference. Meantime no official comment is forthcoming. The suggestion of Sir Edward Grigg, London, before the Royal Empire Society, for the appointment of separate dominion technical commissioners to perform the preliminary work for holding a conference as late as September or October next is considered unlikely by Government officials. The impression is that the conference will be held in or before July.
