PLUNKET SOCIETY

HASTINGS BRANCH. MONTHLY MEETING. The usual monthly meeting of the Hastings branch of the Royal New Zealand Society for the Health of Women and Children was held on Tuesday Present: Mrs. Sunderland (chair), Mesdames H. Fannin, A. R. Greenwood, C. A. Hendry, E. J. Herrick, J. B. Pickering, G. F. Roach, C. Stubbs, A. S. Tonkin and. C. R. Wright. Apologies were received from Mesdames A. Bell, M. Bell and T. L. Gordon. Mrs. C. A. Hendry and Mrs. Pickering were welcomed by the acting president as new members of the committee. The nurses’ report for November submitted to the meeting read as follows:—New cases, town 14, country 6; visitors to office 991; visits to homes, town 298, country 131; advice over telephone 63; country districts visited, Havelock North 4 times, Clive 16. Whakatu 2, flaumoana 2, Te Awanga 2, Fernhill 4, Paki Paki 3, Crownthorpe 2, Pukahu 2. A vote of sympathy was passed to Mrs. W. Keith in her serious illness with hopes for her speedy recovery. The usual business was dealt with and accounts were passed for payment Mesdames A. R. Greenwood, C. Stubbs, A. 8. Tonkin and C. R. Wright were appointed visiting committee foi the ensuing two months. The following subscriptions were acknowledged with thanks:—Mesdames Waterworth, J. Love, J. E. Heaton, Eberhard, S. Freeman, A. Elder and Sister Fahey.
