WRESTLING IN AUCKLAND

A PROTEST AND SUPPORT. MINISTERS’ VIEWS. By Telegraph—Press Assn.— Copyright Auckland, Dec. 9. A strong protest was made by th* Rev. Lawson Marsh at the Auckland Presbytery last night against the type of wrestling contests in the Town Hall. He was not supported, however, by the Rev. C. G. Scrimgeour, Methodist city missionei, who said to-day that he had attended last Monday’s bout and, apart from a little horseplay by the contestants, he saw nothing to shock anyone’s morals. Personally ne enjoyed every minute of a good match, and he considered wrestling was competently managed in Auckland “There was another member of the cloth m the audience,” he added, “and judging by the expressions on his face ho enjoyed tho match as much as I did.”
