BUILDING NEW BRIDGE IN 24 HOURS. British Official Wireless Service. Rugby, Dec. 4. Early to-morrow morning at Southgate Station, London, a North-Eastern Railway army of workmen, aided by ad the latest mechanical devices, will commence work on the task of fixing a new bridge which is scheduled to bo completed on Sunday in 24 hours. Two hundred feet of lines must be movad and 1000 tons of earth excavated. Thou the steel bridge with a 70 feet span is to be placed in position, all without interfering with the normal train service. This remarkable effort, which depends for success on perfect orgamsa tion of labour and the efficiency of British appliances, is being undertaken by Sir Robert Macalpine and Sons.
