NAPIER LICENSING COMMITTEE

APPLICATIONS DEALT WITH. The adjourned annual and quarterly meeting of the Napier Licensing Com mitteo was held to-day. On the bench were Messrs. A. M. Mowlem, S.M. (chairman), A. McGlashan, W. G. Martin, A. G. Pallet and Flewellyn King. An application by J. E. Johnstone for a publican’s license at Taradale was granted. Mr. D. Cuming, inspector of police, reported that tho new building in reinforeed concrete was now completed, and was an asset to the dis trict. Tho licensee was in occupation. An application by Thomas John Brennan for a publican’s license for tho Clarendon Hotel was granted. Counsel stated that the work of rehabilitating the building was practically completed, and the whole place would be in occupation this week.
