GLIDING MEET
FIRST IN THE DOMINION. TO BE HELD AT, DANNEVIRKE. At a meeting of tho management committee of the New Zealand Gliding Association, held on Saturday evening it was decided to sponsor the Dominion’s first gliding camp to be held at Dannevirke from December 26 to 30 inclusive. All gliding clubs will be invited to send their quotas of pilots and machines, and tho New Zealand Railways Department as well as- the Union Steamship Company aro being approached m regard to the free transport of gliders to and from the camp. It is that in addition to a number of primary training gliders, there will be several machines capable of soaring flight. Details are in the hands of a sub committee, of the association together with the committee of the Dannevirke Gliding Club, and every arrangement is being made for the entertainment of the visitors. In Great Britain, Germany and the United States such camps are held annually and are attended by international representatives. New Zealand possesses some excellent gliding terrain, and there is every possibility of such camps in the future being attended by experts of international repute.
