HAVELOCK NORTH
AUXILIARY REFORM LEAGUR On Wednesday afternoon a meeting; was held with the object of forming a branch of the Women’s Auxiliary Reform League m Havelock North, There was an attendance of over 70 ladies, and a great deal of enthusiasm was shown. Mrs Gilbertson who convened the meeting, opened proceedings with * short address, stressing the importance of women’s share in the voting power of the country. Mrs E. J. Herrick, president of the Hastings branch, then addressed the gathering, and gave a brief outline of the objects of the League. It was unanimously decided to form a branch in Havelock North. A hearty vote of thanks was aocorded to Mrs Herrick. During an interval, afternoon tea was dispensed. It was decided to hold another meeting shortly, the date of which will be made known. To-morrow the local Rugby juniors will have an opportunity of avenging their defeat early in the season by Taradale on the latter’s grounds. Tomorrow’s game will be played at Havelock, commencing at 3 p.nu Although three of the local pack are travelling with the Hawke’s Bay junior reps., the team should give a, good account of itself
