HASTINGS AMATEUR TOURNEY. THURSDAY’S BOUTS SHOULD BE GOOD. In the Hastings Drill Hall on Thursday night next the Hawke’s Bay amateuc boxing cahmpionsuips are to be decided, and from these results a team will be selected to represent the Hawke’s Bay Association at the New Zealand championships at Palmerston North this month. Entries for the New Zealand events close on August 8, the day after the Hawke's Bay championships, so unless the local team is selected on Thursday night, it misses. Entries for next Thursday night’s bouts will close with the secretary, Mr J. Stickland, Box 14.5, Hastings, by 7 p.m. to-morrow, so intending competitors would do well to get busy with their entries.
