Messages from Bucharest suggest that Queen Marie was cognisant of Carol’s coup throughout and is now anxious to effect a reconciliation between Carol and Helene. She parsed through Vienna to-day going to Bucharest. Though she declined an interview, she issued a statement ihat the entire family stands together wih Carol. “I hope to see Princess Helene proclaimed Queen,” she said. “I am returning home in order to be useful to my sou, because I know ho his a great mission.” A member of Queen Marie’s entourage added that all hoped that neither Madame Lambrino nor Madame Lupescu would come as ghosts of the past to trouble the King and country. It is reported that Carol has issued a proclamation declaring Princess Helene Queen of Rumania. The Papal NunCio conveyed to Carol the Pope’s joy and good wishes for a successful reign.
