A NEW EXPERIMENT COMMUNICATION WITH NEW YORK. COMMANDER BYRD TO SPEAK. (Per Press Association.] Dunedin, March 10. Station 4YA, as an experimental preliminary, established a two-way verbal communication with New York early this morning. V T oices from Dunedin were conveyed by telephone and cable to 2YA, Wellington, thence broadcast to the short-wave station at Sydney and passed on to 2XAF, New York The replies received later were picked up direct here. Mr. Russell Owen, of the “New York Tinies,” will speak through this system early to-morrow morning, and Commander' Byrd at 0.30 on Wednesday morning.
