MOTHERS’ UNION
(By “Stella.”)
There was a good attendance at tho monthly meeting of the Mother’s Union, in St. Matthew’s Hall, on Tues last.
A report was read of the Diocesan Council meeting, and invitations were read for members to attend the Taradale branch to-morrow (Thursday), and also a farewell at St. Augustine’s (Napier), to Mrs and Miss Sedgwick on November 13th. A Mother's Union garden party will be held in the Vicar age grounds on Decembor 3rd.
Major Robinson, who was passing through Hastings, entertained those present with a talk on Melanesia. Ho appealed for the help of the Mother’s Union in giving bandages for the Mission work. Members were asked to bring sterilised linen, and to make it into bandaages at the next meetings, so that plenty can be sent before the boat sails for Melanesia in April. There are never enough bandages, and immense quantities arc needed for the various sores and complaints of tho natives.
